Better Newton PAC is organized and supported by Newton residents from across our City who have come together to support local candidates with pragmatic common-sense approaches to local issues.
We are disappointed in the polarization and ideological rigidity that we have seen on issues that
need leaders who believe that pragmatism and consensus-building are the way to build
community support.
We believe that our best leaders want to listen to voters, not simply talk at voters, when discussing difficult issues.
Our community continues to be harmed by needless vitriol and confrontation, particularly when
elected officials consider issues such as single-family zoning changes, public safety issues
including the Newton Police budget, development, and fiscal issues.
We will continue to support candidates who reach out to voters and their City Council colleagues to forge decisions that
have broad community support and are not driven by a needless ideological agenda.
Better Newton PAC is a Political Action Committee (not an Independent Expenditure PAC).
Individual contributions can be made up to a maximum of $500 each year.
